Johnny and I decided to form a blog to keep you all updated on how the wedding planning is going. So far as you know Johnny proposed on July 3rd 2011. Since then we have had fun getting best wishes and pats on the back from our family and friends.
So right now we are just trying to have fun with the engagement process... talking about saving money. We already have been working on a small intimate list of guests 24 each doesn't leave a lot of room for friends. However, we hope that in some way or another everyone will get the chance to celebrate with us at some point. While we are trying to save money we've been hitting Target a lot and Johnny has taken the job as gun scanner. The list may change the further we get to the wedding date but we decided to go ahead and register early so that when it comes time for holidays or birthdays and someone is asking what do we want it would be just easy for them to help us with the future instead. We are constantly discussing the things we already have to take with us. This way the time wont seem like it flew by and we are scrambling to get organized.
Another thing is jobs. I just got a job teaching for 9 months at a Head Start and I'm praying that God will keep this job for me for the next 9 months so I can save for a car and license which is something I really want to accomplish at least a year before the wedding. Johnny is looking for a better job in his desired field (computer networking and repair).. but while he expands his education and experience he is just thankful for the job that God has provided. Any of you computer people out there want to take him under your wing and show him a few things to help get him more experienced it would be great.
We already decided on our colors also :) Johnny picked the colors from the paint samples at Walmart because we couldn't decide on the perfect shade of blue. So the colors are (according to the paint samples for Glidden paint) Bittersweet Chocolate and Robin's Egg blue. We talked to a lady at Fantasia she said we'd be able to have the wedding there on a Thursday for 2000 in winter (which is what we wanted). And our estimated time of marriage is January 2013 but God will settle that more as time goes by and His provision falls into place.
So the way we are doing this blog is... every time we write something the person who wrote it say so at the bottom. More than likely you could tell that this is Amy writing. I hope you will continue to read and keep us in your prayers. We look forward to reading your comments and responding to them and any questions you have.
God bless!
